As the first Republic in the known world, Iridine has practically invented civilized politics. Fewer and further between are the bloody coups that mark the political landscape of so many of its neighbors; Iridine relies on the voice of its people to determine its fate.

Recently, the then Consuls, Orasca Calsuan and Seredian Allende took the city of Iridine back from it's Cineran occupants. Both led a legion in the attack, Allende led Legio I, who attacked from the north, and Calsuan led Legio II, who attacked from the south.

Calsuan's forces had greater luck in the attack, and upon retaking the city, he was named dictator, to control the war against the Cinerans. Not long after his return to the city, Orasca Calsuan was struck down by an assassin.

The current Consuls are Seredian Allende (Senior Consul) and Atriarch Anande (Junior Consul).

But even with the death of Orasca Calsuan, the Calsuans have not been forced from power. Orasca's heir, Sordo Calsuan, recently led the legions of Iridine in an attack on the Cinerans north of Monlon, routing them, and killing a few Cineran warlords.

Recently, Seredian Allende was kidnapped by the Altene Black Wolves, who were working for the Cineran enemy. During his captivity, the Senate brought up making the young Calsuan dictator. But, before that happened, Allende was rescued and returned to power.

Much of the information on this site was taken from the Eternal City help files and Player's Guide and reorganized into a simple layout to better help you understand the politics of the Republic of Iridine.
